Environment :   Breadboard, 74 series ICs and other digital circuit elements, LogiSim simulator.
     
Description :  

Review of the fundamentals of Boolean Algebra, binary and hexadecimal numbering systems, logic gates, Boolean simplification. Sequential circuit design, finite state machines. This course is heavily based on practical implementation and a final project will require the students to build a Finite State Machine, such as an elevator control system.

     
Workload :    6 homework, 10 labs, midterm, and a final project.
